125cm x 885cm, acrylic & mixed media on masonite
The City of Mississauga selected me to head the Courtneypark Branch Library Community Art Project with the participation of St. Joan of Arc’s art club, the Society of Fine Artists (S.O.F.A.), St. Marcellinus School and community members. The commission comprised a long mural in mixed media entitled “Hieroglyphs to Hyperlinks” depicting the evolution of communication from the beginning of time to the never-ending technology of our day.
Students brainstormed with me over several months to arrive at a dynamic design which symbolizes how numerous cultural traditions have influenced each other and how communication has progressed.
Community members represented their individual cultures and heritages by contributing to the mural with written inscriptions in their own language.
