“Celebrating our catholic community” Past, Present and Future
4’x20’, acrylic on masonite
The mural begins with images remembering the history of the school, including the work of the community. Those images along the way developed into images representing the present times and all the school activities which everyone enjoys. The idea of showing the students involved in food drives helping the community was very important because they wanted to show that they continue with the work of the first settlers in the area.
Since the principal at the time was leaving the school, the students decided to surprise him by painting his portrait among them. It was a great way to show to him their appreciation for being such a great leader in the school.
